We are currently supporting an engineering business in Hull who are recruiting a HR Advisor. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the HR Advisor will provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will partner with managers and employees, ensuring people practices align with business objectives while fostering a positive and high-performing culture.

The role offers significant exposure to strategic HR initiatives whilst retaining a strong operational focus. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with senior leaders, influencing decision-making, and delivering a high-quality people service across a dynamic business.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and absence management.
    • Support recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring an excellent candidate and employee experience.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and best practice.
    • Partner with managers to support organisational change, workforce planning and talent development initiatives.
    • Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends and support business decision-making.
    • Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing and retention programmes.
    • Support learning and development activities across the organisation.
    • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal governance requirements.
    • Work closely with the CPO on key people projects and strategic initiatives.

    Skills/Experience

    • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or equivalent generalist HR role.
    • Strong employee relations experience and a sound understanding of UK employment law.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail.
    • Experience within engineering, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or energy sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.

    This is a permanent role offering c£40,000.
