We're partnering with a well-established, fast-paced consumer-facing business seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join their People team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and self-sufficient ER specialist who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys partnering with operational leaders to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused employee relations advice.

Working as part of a collaborative People function, you will play a key role in supporting managers across a geographically dispersed workforce, ensuring ER matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation. The role reports to an Employee Relations Manager and offers a high level of autonomy and ownership.

    The role:

    • Provide expert advice and guidance on a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance and conduct issues.
    • Manage a varied ER caseload from initial consultation through to resolution.
    • Coach and influence managers to confidently manage employee relations matters in line with company policy and employment law.
    • Build strong relationships with operational and People stakeholders across the business.
    • Ensure a consistent and commercially balanced approach to ER decision-making.
    • Support and lead on complex cases, escalating where necessary.
    • Analyse ER trends and case data, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
    • Contribute to ER projects, policy development and the continuous improvement of people practices.
    • Support preparations for employment tribunals and work alongside legal partners where required.

    About You:

To be successful in this role, you'll already be an established Employee Relations specialist with experience operating in a fast-paced, operationally focused business.

    • Proven experience in a dedicated Employee Relations role.
    • Experience working within a fast-paced environment such as retail, hospitality, leisure, logistics, customer service or similar sectors.
    • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
    • Experience coaching and influencing managers at various levels.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
    • The confidence to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication, organisation and case management skills.
    • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.

If you're an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact while working with a high degree of independence, we'd love to hear from you.
