We are seeking an experienced and strategic Learning & Development Manager to define and deliver a high-impact L&D strategy for an Environmental Services organisation. This is a pivotal role, responsible for shaping and embedding a strong learning culture that supports organisational growth, builds capability, and enables career development across the business.
Reporting into the Chief People Officer, the role will ensure learning and development activity is aligned with the People Plan and wider business objectives. You will design, implement, and evaluate learning initiatives that support succession planning, leadership development, and future skills capability.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive L&D strategy and delivery roadmap aligned to the People Plan and organisational priorities.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of a Learning Management System (LMS), centralising learning data to support compliance, transparency, and succession planning.
- Design and deliver leadership, management, and future skills programmes, identifying and developing talent and future leaders across the organisation.
- Deliver high-quality in-house and digital learning solutions, and build external partnerships to enhance career pathways, apprenticeships, and internship opportunities.
- Proven experience in Learning & Development strategy and delivery
- Experience implementing and managing learning platforms (LMS)
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to design engaging, effective learning solutions
- Data-driven approach to evaluating impact

You will be a proactive and credible L&D professional with experience of operating at a strategic level while remaining hands-on in delivery. You will be confident influencing senior stakeholders and passionate about using learning to drive organisational performance.
This is a permanent, hybrid role based in South Yorkshire, offering c£55,000 plus package.
