People Coordinator (6-Month FTC)

- County Durham - hybrid, approx. 2 days a week in the office

- £28,500 per annum

We are currently looking for an experienced People / HR Coordinator to join a busy People Operations team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced HR environment and supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle.

    The Role:

    As the first point of contact for HR queries, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient People Operations processes across the organisation. You will provide timely advice and administrative support to colleagues and managers while ensuring accurate HR data and compliance with policies and procedures.

     

    You will also coordinate onboarding activities, maintain employee records, and work closely with teams such as payroll and finance to ensure HR processes run smoothly.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries from employees and managers
    • Provide support across the full employee lifecycle, including starters, changes, and leavers
    • Draft offers, contracts and HR documentation
    • Coordinate and deliver a smooth onboarding experience for new employees
    • Maintain accurate HR system records and ensure data integrity
    • Support payroll submissions and related administrative processes
    • Work collaboratively with finance, payroll, managers and other internal teams
    • Assist with HR projects and process improvements
    • Ensure HR activities remain compliant with relevant policies and regulations

     

    About You:

    We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident in dealing with HR queries.

    • Previous experience in an HR / People Coordinator or HR Administrator role
    • Experience supporting the full HR lifecycle
    • Strong experience directly handling HR queries from employees and managers
    • Experience drafting offer letters and employment contracts
    • Experience using HR systems (Workday experience would be highly beneficial)
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate employee records
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
